Dry ice blaster IB 7/40 Advanced

Kärcher's first ice blasting machine, the IB 15/80, is designed for highly efficient cleaning and restoration of a wide range of objects and surfaces. The new, lighter and more compact IB 7/40 has many of the advantages of the larger machine but requires a much smaller compressed air supply, making it ideal for use in conjunction with internal compressed air systems. Kärcher's dry ice blasting technology is a non-aggressive but thorough method of cleaning tools, moulds, surfaces and machines with the least possible downtime. Dry ice pellets are introduced into a compressed air stream that propels them at a speed of over 150 m/s towards the surface to be cleaned. The rapid cooling of the surface causes a thermal shock and creates fine cracks in the top layer. The dry ice enters these cracks, lifts the dirt from the surface and returns to the atmosphere in the form of CO gas, leaving only the dirt behind. No chemicals are used in ice blasting. It generates no waste water, is environmentally friendly and can be used in places where cleaning with water is prohibited or impractical.
